Armed Bandits Abduct Eighteen Persons in Zamfara

Eleven persons have been abducted by armed bandits in Marakai village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Sunday night.

The incident which has developed tension in the area was also recorded in Samgamawa village in Zurmi LGA as seven persons were abducted by the armed bandits on the same night.

Despite the attack and abductions that have happened in the State, there’s no clear report on how and why the people were attacked and subsequently abducted.

Zamfara is one of the States that has been enmeshed with attacks by bandits and kidnappers in the North Eastern region of Nigeria.

Last year, President Muhammadu Buhari has given a directive to security agencies to decisively deal with the bandits in the North-West and Central states, the exercise has helped in reducing the high-scale banditry in the area.
