Omoyele Sowore, the convener of RevolutionNow, condemned the invasion and assault of staff at the Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) in Lagos State on Thursday, describing the behaviour of the military personnel involved as unacceptable.

A viral video reported by the Guardian showed soldiers storming the electricity distribution company in the morning after it disconnected their power due to unpaid electricity bills.
Speaking on X, Sowore called for the identification and punishment of the officers responsible for bringing disrepute to the military organization.

“I unequivocally and wholeheartedly denounce the brutal actions of military personnel who invaded and assaulted workers at Ikeja Electric in Lagos. This unacceptably egregious behaviour was reportedly perpetrated by men of the Nigerian Air Force, and these officers must be identified and sanctioned accordingly,” he stated.
The Nigerian military has yet to comment on this blatant abuse of power, but the video depicted personnel forcing staff to kneel down.
