NANS President Abubakar Isah-Atiku Granted Bail
Abubakar Isah-Atiku, the embattled President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has been granted bail following his arrest and detention by the Department of State Services (DSS) over a charge that he illegally declared himself as NANS President.
Abubakar Isah-Atiku, the embattled President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has been granted bail following his arrest and detention by the Department of State Services (DSS) over a charge that he illegally declared himself as NANS President.

According to activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, one of the charges brought against Isah-Atiku by the DSS specifically accused him of unlawfully assuming the role of NANS President, a move Sowore described as “ridiculous.”
Despite the bail being granted, the DSS has reportedly returned Isah-Atiku to their custody pending bail processing.

Issh was detained by the DSS following complaints by Olusola Ladoja, who claimed to be the NANS President and was backed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. Ladoja accused Isah of impersonation despite not participating in the recent convention that produced the new leadership of the association.
Subsequently, Isah was seen in a viral video stating that he was offered 100 million Naira by Seyi Tinubu to step down, but after refusing the alleged bribe, he was abducted, stripped naked and beaten in the presence of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
After his ordeal, he was arrested by the DSS and has been in their custody for over a month. The DSS initially blocked any access from his family to him but after an outrage by citizens, he was granted access and fed.
