Tinubu Swears In Professor Joash Amupitan as New INEC Chairman

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Professor Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Amupitan arrived at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, earlier today for the ceremony, which marks the formal beginning of his tenure as head of the nation’s electoral body.

His appointment follows Senate confirmation earlier this week, after President Tinubu nominated him to succeed Professor Mahmood Yakubu, whose tenure as INEC Chairman recently came to an end.

Professor Amupitan is expected to lead the commission through upcoming electoral reforms and preparations for future elections across the country.
