Investigative Journalist Fejiro Oliver Released After 61 Days in Custody – Effiong
Investigative journalist and publisher Fejiro Oliver, founder of Secret Reporters, has regained his freedom after spending 61 days nearly two months in police and prison custody in Delta State, Inibehe Effiong, a human rights lawyer reports.

Oliver, who was arrested on September 18, 2025, for his alleged publications and criticisms of Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Joel Thomas, Senator Ede Dafinone, and one Stella Okotete, was released earlier today.
Despite his release, two cybercrime charges filed by the Inspector General of Police at the Federal High Court in Asaba remain pending, as do two separate defamation charges brought by the Delta State Attorney General in the Magistrate’s Court in Asaba.
