‘Fake News Everywhere’ – Fani-Kayode Denies Reports of Germany Rejecting His Appointment
Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister and Ambassador-designate to Germany, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that Germany rejected his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Fake news everywhere 🤣. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment that they are doing everything to discredit me and prevent it. Whether they like it or not, I will serve my country! Keep crying! 🤣”
An exclusive report by Peoples Gazette states that the German government declined the nomination on 13 March, citing concerns over what it described as “erratic behaviour” and past ethnocentric, divisive, and religiously charged comments attributed to Fani-Kayode.
The report also links the decision to a recent incident in which he allegedly insulted the UK High Commissioner during a Ramadan dinner.
Fani-Kayode was among over 60 ambassadorial nominees approved earlier in March by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with reports at the time indicating he had been posted to Germany.
