Police Reveal Condition of 17-Year-Old Girl Pushed From Two-Storey Building In Owerri

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore, who was allegedly pushed from a two-storey building by a 26-year-old man, Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph, in Owerri.

The incident reportedly occurred on November 1, 2026, along Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu, Owerri, Imo State.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, November 4, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, the victim sustained serious injuries after the alleged incident and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention.

However, she succumbed to her injuries on the evening of November 3, 2026, while receiving treatment.

Following her death, the police said the suspect is now facing a murder allegation and remains in custody as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso, commiserated with the family of the deceased, assuring them and the general public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ensure justice.

The Command also appealed to members of the public to remain calm, refrain from spreading unverified information and allow the police to carry out their investigation professionally.
