Hotel Closed Down Over Underaged Prostitutes in Port Harcourt

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has closed down a popular bar and brothel along Rumukurushi Port Harcourt Aba express Road after underaged girls were found working at the hotel as a prostitute.

It was gathered that the bar named 24 Hours Bar was raided after a couple discovered their 16 years old daughter was working as a prostitute at the bar.

Further investigation, disclosed that the bar is known to harbour underage sex workers. Most young girls who were taken from their parents by family relatives or friends in the pretence of going to learn a trade, where found working as sex workers for a price ranging from ₦1000 to ₦2000 per customer.

The girls are always bought over by the matured prostitutes from the agent who usually supplies them.

They are given a target by their senior colleague to remit N15,000 daily after they are provided with accommodation in the hotel.

And at the end of one year of service to the madam, the underaged girls are settled by their madam with items such as a bag of rice, an android phone, a carton of tomatoes and cash of ₦100 thousand Naira to take back home.
