The member representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, Hon. Obi Aguocha on Friday paid a solidarity visit to the ABN TV corporate office in Umuahia in solidarity with the organization.

The visit is in response to the Tuesday invasion of the premises of the media company by policemen from Abia State police command who had appeared during a live programme to arrest a guest, Udensi Bernard on alleged petition against him by brother, Onwuka over a family issue.
The lawmaker during the visit condemned the invasion, saying the police personnel failed to adhere to the minimal rule of engagement.
While stating that the country is a nation of law and order, Hon. Aguocha expressed sympathy with the guest and ABN TV over the damages caused in the studio by the forceful invasion.

“I’m here to see for myself. It’s part of my constituency outreach to note the concerns of ABN TV and the concerns of teeming citizens of Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency and indeed Abia State”, he stated.
Hon. Aguocha expressed confidence with the capacity of the Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemeile in ensuring that the erring personnel are sanctioned according to the law.
He also urged the police to end the era harassing, arresting and Illegally arresting Nigerians without due processes of the law.
In his response, the Director ABN TV, Ifeanyi Okali expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for finding time to show moral support to the organization, saying that is what representation is all about.
Hon. Aguocha also supported the treatment of Bernard who has since been hospitalised after he was manhandled by the police with an undisclosed amount of money.
