One Dies, Many Injured as Truck Loses Control along Port Harcourt-Enugu Road
One person has died following an accident which occurred along the Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway, near Lekwesi Umuchieze in Umueneochi Local Government Area of Abia State on May 16, 2024.

According to the Abia State Police Public Relations Officer. Maureen Chinaka, a Mac truck with registration number KGE 22, driven by Amaechi Chucks Nwankwo, a 35-year-old male from Obowo, Imo State, lost control while descending a slope at the aforementioned location and destroyed two military barricades which he wanted to use as a wage to the truck.’
The truck which had been reported to have crushed an 18-passenger bus got to the third wage which is the police checkpoint at that location but collided with a stationary bus, resulting in the death of two passengers, injuring five others.



The Police stated that the injured victims were taken to the Christ the King Hospital at Ngodo Isiochi where they were treated and discharged.
While the Corpse was deposited at the morgue and the vehicle pulled out of the ditch.
Meanwhile, the driver is in the custody of police
