In a bold move aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability, Alex Onyia, CEO of EduCare, has issued Freedom of Information (FOI) demands to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), calling for immediate clarification regarding recent controversies surrounding the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Onyia confirmed in a public statement on Monday that copies of the FOI requests have also been delivered to the Minister of Education, the Senate President, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“JAMB must respond within 7 days or we proceed to litigation,” Onyia stated. “The destinies of these Nigerian students are my priority. They worked very hard, burnt candles and deserve a transparent outcome.”

He is demanding a public explanation of the issues that have cast doubt on the credibility of the examination results, an apology to affected students, and public access to their mark sheets.
Onyia’s intervention has sparked a renewed call for transparency in the conduct and management of national examinations, with growing pressure on JAMB to provide answers.
“Enough is enough,” he declared.
