Environmental Taskforce Cracks Down on Criminal Elements, Arrests 62 Suspects
Sixty-two (62) suspects were arrested during an early morning clean-up enforcement operation by the Environmental Taskforce on Friday, 23rd May 2025.
Sixty-two (62) suspects were arrested during an early morning clean-up enforcement operation by the Environmental Taskforce on Friday, 23rd May 2025.

The operation, which began around 1:30 a.m., targeted hotspots including Victoria Island, Falomo, Eko Hotel, Osborne, and adjoining streets known for harbouring criminal activities.
Among those arrested were 59 males and 3 females, all suspected of involvement in various unlawful acts disrupting the peace of the community. The suspects were taken into custody and are set to face prosecution.

Meanwhile, LAWMA Waste Infractions Surveillance and Investigation Team expanded its operational efforts in the Abule Egba, Mangoro, and Cement areas along the Abeokuta Expressway and arrested five individuals for partaking in unlawful waste disposal practices on the evening of May 21, 2025.
The five individuals have been transferred to the LAWMA legal team at the Oshodi Taskforce office for appropriate legal proceedings.
Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab, who oversees the taskforce, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ridding the State of criminal elements.
The Commissioner assured the public that the agency would maintain its vigilance and sustain these enforcement actions across the State.
