A car thief, Jackson Abraham, has been arrested by operatives of the Ebute Ero Division for possessing a stolen vehicle, which was recovered during a routine surveillance patrol on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was intercepted based on credible suspicion while driving a light ash-colored Mitsubishi Space vehicle.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect took the vehicle from a parking area in Ogun State without the owner’s consent. Interestingly, the vehicle owner resides at the same address as the suspect. The car was promptly recovered in intact condition and has since been taken to the police station.

The rightful owner, who had previously reported the vehicle missing in Ogun State, has been contacted and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, the suspect remains in custody as arrangements are made to transfer both him and the recovered vehicle to the Ogun State Police Command, where the case was originally reported and is currently under investigation.

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling vehicle theft and ensuring public safety. He urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly, emphasising that public cooperation is essential for effective crime prevention and recovery efforts.
