Police Arrest Man for ₦1.5 Million Bribery Attempt
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested a 40-year-old man, Yahaya Saleh, for attempting to bribe police investigators with ₦1.5 million to obstruct justice in an ongoing kidnapping case.

According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspect offered the bribe to officers of the Command’s Scorpion Squad handling the investigation into a kidnapping syndicate operating within Abuja and its surrounding areas.
Saleh’s goal, the police said, was to influence the release of one of the arrested suspects connected to the case.
However, the officers rejected the inducement and swiftly initiated legal procedures, resulting in Saleh’s arrest.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, praised the Scorpion Squad operatives for their exemplary conduct and reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption and interference in justice.
It further revealed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
