Obi Urges Super Eagles to “Lift Their Wings” After Disappointing Defeat
In the wake of the Super Eagles’ recent disappointing result, former presidential candidate Peter Obi has offered words of encouragement to the national team, urging them not to be discouraged by the setback.

Obi acknowledged the emotional toll of the loss, noting that wearing the nation’s green and white jersey comes with the weight of over 200 million expectations. He praised the players’ hard work, sacrifice, and commitment, emphasising that their efforts have not gone unnoticed.
He encouraged the team to view the moment as an opportunity for growth rather than defeat. “Great teams are defined by their response to adversity,” Obi said, adding that what matters most is how the squad regroups with greater discipline, focus, and preparation.
Expressing confidence in their resilience, he urged the Super Eagles to remain optimistic: “Do not let today overshadow the greatness of tomorrow. The Eagle never bows its head, it lifts its wings.”
Obi urged the players to stay committed and keep their heads high, assuring them that Nigerians still believe in their potential. “Together, we will soar again,” he affirmed.
The Super Eagles lost 4–3 on penalties to DR Congo in a tense and dramatic playoff at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay El Hassan in Rabat thereby disqualifying them from the 2026 World Cup.

Posts like this are why I keep coming back. It’s rare to find content that’s simple, practical, and not full of fluff.
