“You Don’t Know the Law” – Court Walks Nnamdi Kanu Out After Heated Exchange With Judge
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), shouted at Justice James Omotosho on Thursday, prompting the Federal High Court in Abuja to order that he be walked out of the courtroom for what the judge described as unruly conduct.

“You don’t know the law, show me where it says you can waive the right to a final address, Omotosho show me the law.”
The dramatic exchange occurred midway through the proceedings after Justice Omotosho dismissed three fresh motions filed by the detained IPOB leader. The court held that the motions were unmeritorious, noting that the matter had previously been adjourned for judgment.
Tension rose when the judge moved to deliver his reserved ruling. Kanu objected, insisting that the court could not proceed because he had not filed his final written address. His confrontation with the judge led to the order for him to be removed from the courtroom.
Outside the court, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother to the IPOB leader, addressed journalists in an emotional briefing.
“For how long will this continue? Go around the country, there are attacks everywhere. This is an injustice to the Igbo people. How can you jail a man who has done nothing? Nnamdi Kanu is not a terrorist. We’ve been on this case for nine years,” he said.
He added that the escalating tension surrounding the case was deepening ethnic anxieties.
“It looks as if there’s a war between Igbos and Yorubas. This is an injustice. How can you jail a man who has done nothing? Nnamdi Kanu is not a terror!st, we’ve been on this case for 9 years,” he reiterated.
