Just-In: Suspected Phone Thief Arrested During Night Vigil
A suspected serial thief identified as Chinedu Akata has been apprehended by members of a church during an overnight program along Abam by Umuchu Road, just before Orieugba Gate.

The incident occurred while worshippers at Holy Ghost Power Anointing Church, popularly known as “Cannan Land,” were engaged in a night vigil.
According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect, who allegedly specialises in stealing mobile phones and power banks during church services, was caught in possession of several items believed to belong to members of the congregation.
Reports indicate that Akata attempted to flee the scene after being discovered but was quickly overpowered by alert church members. During interrogation, he disclosed his name and stated that he hails from Ikwuano Local Government Area.
The suspect has since been handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
