At the official declaration of Chief Emmanuel Chinedu Ndubuisi (Ijiriji Bende), the representative of Bende South at the Abia State House of Assembly, the people of his constituency endorsed him for a higher position at the Federal House of Representatives.

Presenting himself at the official declaration held in Uzuakoli Practising School on Wednesday, Chief Ndubuisi stated that he is vying for the higher office to build on the achievements of Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu at the National Assembly.

He acknowledged that some might say the shoes worn by the Deputy Speaker may be too big for him, but he is committed to working for the people and sought their support during the primary election.

“The Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu has made things easier for me. I’m going to build on the work he has done at Bende LGA and Nigeria at large.”

He reminded the people how he stepped down for a consensus candidate of the party in 2014, and that he has learned and is ready to serve the people at the Federal level.

Speaking, the Abia State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Chijioke Chukwu, said it is not within his power to override the party’s procedures but assured that the Party will complete its processes. He noted that Chief Ndubuisi was a strong voice in the State Assembly and informed the people that the APC would release its nomination and interest forms.

“I’ll support justice in the Party. The Senate cannot be in Bende and the representatives will also be in Bende. The stakeholders in Bende will speak that they are standing behind Ijiriji. When they speak, we assure you that the Party will speak in a unanimous voice.”

He pledged to support the decision of the stakeholders in Bende and confirmed that their choice will be backed by the Party.

He lauded Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu for making Bende proud; describing him as Nigeria’s best export to the world, whose wisdom even his enemies admire.

He mentioned that one of the tactics used by Chief Ndubuisi is bringing back Abia State Liaison Officer Chief Iheanyi Chinasa known as Dogo, and assured that those who left APC through the window are returning through the door.

“Over 400 Bende indigenes from different parties have returned to the largest party in Nigeria and Africa. No party is bigger than the APC in Africa, boasting over 31 governors,’ he said.

Continuing, he said “No state in Nigeria has been paying salaries since the inception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our economy was severely negatively affected before his tenure. He removed fuel subsidies and repositioned our economy to thrive. There is a 300-bed hospital in Enugu State.”

Upon receiving Chief Chimeremeze Odoemenam (Onwa) and other defectors, Chief Chijioke Chukwu advised defectors to conduct politics with integrity.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries in the Party.
