Ikenna Ukwa Hails Free and Fair Primaries, Promises Development for Arochukwu/Ohafia
Chief Ikenna Ukwa, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency has expressed joy and gratitude following what he described as a successful and transparent democratic process, while also pledging to prioritise development and restoration of power supply for the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia.

Speaking after participating in the party’s presidential primaries on Saturday, Ukwa commended the state leadership for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise.
“I am elated. It was a difficult process, but we followed the democratic process,” he said. “I want to thank the state leadership for ensuring a free and fair election.”
Addressing questions about his plans for the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia, Ukwa emphasised the need for improved welfare and infrastructure, particularly electricity.
“The first thing I have promised my people is that I will make sure that power is restored to the great people of Arochukwu and Ohafia,” he stated.
Commenting on the presidential primaries, Ukwa described the exercise as impressive, noting the massive turnout of party supporters across the Ohafia Local Government Area.
“This is the seventh ward I am visiting today, and the turnout has been massive and encouraging,” he said. “The president has done a fantastic job in the last three years, and I believe he deserves one more term.”
He added that the enthusiasm displayed by party faithful was a sign of confidence ahead of the general elections.
“We have come out in numbers to support Mr President, and this is proof that we have the numbers to win the election,” Ukwa declared.
Ukwa also expressed appreciation to supporters and political leaders across the region for their support during the exercise.
“I want to say thank you to the people of Ohafia, Abiriba, and Arochukwu,” he said. “I also thank the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu, and the President for ensuring a free and fair process, and my local government chairman, Steve Stanley Ojoba.”
In his contribution, the APC Chairman of the Ohafia Local Government Area Chief Steve Stanley Ojoba described the election as free and fair. He stated that the good works of President Bola Tinubu caused the people to come out in their numbers to vote massively for his re-election.
“We plan to give Mr President a 100% vote from the State and Arochukwu/Ohafia has ensured that that happens. We are very confident that the President will win his re-election bid in 2027.”
