Arochukwu Kingdom Celebrates Second Coronation Anniversary of His Eminence Eze Dr Eberechukwu Oji in Glamour and Style

The people of Arochukwu Kingdom trooped out en masse to celebrate the second coronation anniversary of His Eminence, Eze Dr Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro IX of Arochukwu Kingdom, with a charge to Aro sons and daughters in the diaspora to return home with their investments, expertise, and global networks. The monarch declared that “Arochukwu is open for business.”

Speaking at the event, which was graced by numerous dignitaries from different parts of Nigeria and beyond, His Eminence urged young people to acquire the skills needed to benefit from the kingdom’s emerging economic opportunities. He also assured women entrepreneurs and business owners that they would be among the first beneficiaries of the planned SME and cooperative funding schemes.

Reflecting on the kingdom’s progress, Eze Aro declared that the foundation for Arochukwu’s transformation had been firmly laid.

“Power is coming. Roads are being completed. Security is in place. Investors are knocking at our door. Arochukwu is on the rise. But we must rise together,” he said.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Second Coronation Anniversary Council, Dr Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi, CEO of NEST Oil, represented by Barrister Nnaji Igwe, Assistant Director of NEST Oil, said His Eminence has given Arochukwu a stronger voice and a clear direction for the future.

He noted that the monarch’s visionary leadership has become a rallying point for the kingdom and has inspired confidence among Aro people at home and in the diaspora.

He said his relationship with Arochukwu began long before the occasion through childhood friendships and close associations, which gave him firsthand experience of the warmth, discipline, and strong sense of identity that define the Aro people.

He added that he has come to value the relationship deeply and now stands not as an outsider but as a friend who has grown to love and respect the great people of Arochukwu.

He congratulated Eze Eberechukwu Oji on his second coronation anniversary and encouraged him to remain steadfast in his visionary leadership.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Barrister Kingsley Uba Okoro, warmly welcomed guests on behalf of the National Council of the Second Coronation Anniversary.

He described the anniversary as more than a celebration of two years on the throne, saying it was a celebration of a kingdom renewed by peace, strengthened by unity, inspired by visionary leadership, and united by a shared commitment to progress.

According to him, the celebration also provided an opportunity to showcase the excellence of the Aro people, their rich cultural heritage, and the enduring relevance of the traditional institution in shaping the destiny of the kingdom.

He explained that the theme of the celebration centred on peace, unity, and honouring champions of excellence in the development and sustenance of Arochukwu Kingdom.

Barrister Okoro reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to supporting the vision of His Eminence by promoting peace, reconciliation, collaboration, and respect for the kingdom’s cherished values and history.

He noted that the anniversary programme featured activities that reflected every dimension of the kingdom’s heritage, including cultural displays, youth and community engagement, and the grand anniversary ceremony, all aimed at preserving the kingdom’s heritage while advancing its future.

He thanked development partners, corporate organisations, traditional rulers, community leaders, and friends of Arochukwu Kingdom for their overwhelming support in making the celebration a success.

He urged everyone to continue supporting the vision of His Eminence and to work together in unity to build a stronger and more prosperous Arochukwu Kingdom.

The President-General of Nzuko Aro Worldwide, Mazi Nnadozie Udensi, welcomed guests and congratulated His Eminence for his progressive initiatives and developmental strides in Arochukwu Kingdom.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, Eze Iweka II, Eze Obosi, stated that the Igbo nation started in Arochukwu and progressed to other sides while appreciating the privilege to be in the Kingdom. He wished Eze Aro a great reign while urging the people to support his reign in the Kingdom while applauding his progress in so short a time of his reign.

Delivering a goodwill message, Emir Sanusi Mohammed Asha said he was delighted to be in Arochukwu in the company of distinguished members of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, including the Director-General, the National Secretary, and other leaders of the Council from across the country.

“It is a great privilege to join you in celebrating the Second Coronation Anniversary of His Eminence, Eze Dr Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro IX. I was present during the coronation ceremony two years ago, but due to other commitments, I was unable to participate fully in all the activities. Today, I am pleased to be here once again to witness and celebrate this remarkable milestone. Congratulations, Your Eminence, and we wish you continued success in your reign.”

Representing the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Ndukwe Kalu thanked God for the life and reign of His Eminence and prayed for greater wisdom, divine guidance, and continued success for the monarch.

He called on everyone present to join in praying for the king and the continued peace, unity, and progress of Arochukwu Kingdom.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of a trophy to His Eminence by students of Madonna Secondary School, Ugwuakuma, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the development of Arochukwu Kingdom, traditional display by actors and actresses of AroWood, cultural dance by Ojojo dance from Ujari, Ohafia war dance and other groups.
