Two Gunned Down as Police Dislodge Robbery Attack

Following a distress call on Thursday, the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Area Command in Onitsha in conjunction with the local vigilante known as Adonidu group dislodged a robbery attack in Onitsha.

It was gathered that the suspects were operating on a motorcycle along with St. Stephens by Ibekwe Street, Inland town in Onitsha. Police operatives rushed to the scene of the attack and engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
The suspects were fatally wounded and rushed to the hospital but were certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor. The corpses have been deposited at the mortuary.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that a fabricated barrel pistol with three rounds of .9mm live ammunition and their operational motorcycle were recovered from the suspects and has been registered as exhibits.
The Command reiterated of it’s a promise to safeguard the lives and properties of the citizens before, during and after the festive period and urged for timely information to receive a prompt response.
