Adamawa State Commissioner for Women Affairs Reveals Reason Behind Rape

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lami Ahmed, has giving reason to the rise in rape case across the country.

Speaking with newsmen, Mrs Ahmed said that the devil is to be blamed for the rising cases of rape.

She stated that there is a breakdown in family values which has resulted in a high level of divorce in the country.

She said, “To me, the reason why the cases of rape are increasing every day is that rape is the handiwork of the devil. There’s a breakdown in family values resulting in a higher rate of divorce.

Situations such as the separation of the father and mother can sometimes expose the child to abuse either from a family member or neighbours.”
