The Nigerian Custom service has stated that it has seized over 1,000 poisonous bags of foreign rice in Ogun State on Thursday, May 5 2022.
The Nigerian Custom service has stated that it has seized over 1,000 poisonous bags of foreign rice in Ogun State on Thursday, May 5 2022.

This was made known by the Acting Comptroller, FoU, Zone A, Hussein Ejibunu, during a press conference where he disclosed that the bags of parboiled rice came into Cotonou from India.

He also revealed that the bags of rice were smuggled into the country through the Benin Republic and was now in the custody of the customs.



According to NAFDAC, the bags of rice contains led substances that are poisonous to the body.
