The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has deployed its operatives to monitor the upcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States scheduled for Saturday, 11th November 2023.

Speaking on Friday, the Commission made it clear that it has deployed to the 56 Local Government Areas and 649 Wards to monitor and prevent vote buying and other electoral malpractices at the various polling units during the electoral exercise.
Recall that the off-cycle elections of Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo State come up on the 11th of November 2023. The elections have been bedeviled with threats from political parties that have shunned the peace accord.

Meanwhile, security agents have been deployed to these States to monitor the activities of the election.
However, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have been left stranded after the Imo State Government booked all the hotel rooms in the State.
