Just-In: Gunmen Kill DELSU Lecturer in His Home

A 56-year-old professor at Delta State University (DELSU) in Abraka, Emeka Chukwuma, was reportedly killed by gunmen over the weekend.

It was reported that gunmen attacked his home in the St. Bridges area of the Umueji quarter in Asaba when he returned for a weekend visit, shooting him on Friday night.
In the aftermath of the incident, residents have urged security agencies to intensify their efforts against the criminal activities that have plagued Asaba and other major towns in the oil-rich state.

Confirming the incident, SP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State stated that the police have launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
“The incident has been reported, and we are looking into it to arrest those involved and bring them to justice,” he said.
