A final-year student at the Delta State School of Nursing in Agbor, Awele Eluemunor, was tragically killed in an accident involving a 100-level student from the University of Delta (UNIDEL).

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday when the UNIDEL student, who had just been admitted to the school, lost control of the car while being taught how to drive by her boyfriend on a major road.
The vehicle struck several pedestrians who were walking along the road. Awele Eluemunor, who was set to graduate in November 2025, unfortunately lost her life in the incident.

Two other individuals were critically injured and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
After the suspect was arrested the following day, she pleaded with the police to allow her to take her examination that day. This request sparked protests among nursing students in response to the tragedy.
