Abia Traditional Ruler Arrested for Diversion of Hospital Equipment, Palliative, Others
HRH Eze Henry Ugochukwu Okere, the traditional ruler of Mkporobo Ndoki Autonomous Community in Ukwa East LGA of Abia State has been allegedly arrested by security agencies.
HRH Eze Henry Ugochukwu Okere, the traditional ruler of Mkporobo Ndoki Autonomous Community in Ukwa East LGA of Abia State has been allegedly arrested by security agencies.

The arrest occurred on March 1, 2025, following allegations that the traditional ruler unlawfully broke into the government health center and took medical equipment intended for public use to his private home.
During the search, security agencies recovered a freezer and a generator that was meant for the health centre from his residence.


Additionally, he is accused of diverting federal government palliatives, coordinated through the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, which included a truckload of food items, corrugated iron, cement sheets, large foam mattresses, and other goods valued at over 50 million Naira.
HRH Eze Henry Ugochukwu Okere is also accused of illegally selling palm fruits from the community without following the proper procedures.
It was gathered that HRH Eze Okere was arrested along with two other individuals from the community.
