Two students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Joshua Temitope Oladepo, and Kelechi Ejike, who were arrested during a protest against the visit of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have been released.

The students were reportedly detained after participating in a peaceful demonstration opposing Wike’s presence on campus.

Carrying placards, they demanded the Minister compensate people whose houses he demolished.

The School authorities, in collaboration with the SSS, arrested the students and whisked them away.

Student activists have vowed to continue their advocacy, stating, “We go again,” as they reaffirm their commitment to defending democratic rights and free expression on campus.
