UNIZIK Undergraduate Jumps Off Three-Storey Building

A male student from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State, has died after jumping from a three-storey building at a lodge near Royal Kitchen Junction, close to the university gate.

The tragic incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Witnesses reported that the student, who was suspected to be under the influence of hard drugs, jumped from the building. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

Details are still emerging, but neighbours stated that they heard a loud noise before discovering the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood. It was reported that his roommate, found in their room shortly after the incident, appeared to be under the influence of the same substance and was incoherent.

Sources indicate that the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, as the family had not been notified of the incident.

When contacted, the university’s spokesperson, Mr. Louis Okwudili Njelita, said, “This information has not come to my desk yet for me to comment.”
