Oyedepo Blasts Political Leaders, Warns Nigerians Against Making Another ‘Wrong Choice’
The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, David Oyedepo, has issued a scathing rebuke of Nigeria’s political direction, warning citizens against being deceived by monetary inducements and urging the nation to avoid making another “wrong choice” at the polls.

Speaking during a church service at the Faith Tabernacle in Otta, Ogun State on Sunday, Bishop Oyedepo condemned what he described as the erosion of federal character and the dangerous trend of religious and ethnic imbalance in national leadership.
“The money they gave you to vote for them in the last election, I hope it’s still there?” he said pointedly. “I don’t think any members in this church will still be fooled again.”
He criticised the propagation of a “Muslim-Muslim ticket”. He warned that the future could see even more lopsided political configurations, such as a “Fulani-Fulani ticket,” which he said signals a deepening disregard for national unity.
“People don’t think forward, they are so myopic,” Oyedepo lamented. “A nation religiously divided as Nigeria cannot prosper.”
Referring to the contentious 2015 elections, the influential cleric said he had foreseen the country’s current troubles. “I was shouting this in 2015. Prophetic statements are not out of the blue; they are messages from the Lord,” he added.
Bishop Oyedepo prayed fervently that: “God forbid for Nigeria to make another wrong choice. Lord, deliver Nigeria from making another wrong choice. Deliver this nation from going backwards.”
