Soludo: I See Hope in Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria’s Future Brighter

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has expressed optimism about the future of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying the country’s economic reforms are necessary despite the pains being experienced by citizens.

Soludo spoke during the launch of the National Community Food Bank in Anambra State, where he acknowledged the hardship faced by Nigerians but said the situation was the consequence of what he described as an “emergency surgical operation” required to fix the economy inherited by the Tinubu administration.

According to him, many Nigerians were unaware of the condition of the economy inherited by President Tinubu.

“I hear and feel the pains of those who complain now, but let me assure you that I see hope with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Soludo said.

The governor likened the situation to a stage-four cancer patient undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, stressing that such treatment would inevitably come with significant pain.

“A stage-four cancer patient will obviously feel the pains of surgery plus doses of chemotherapy. Yes, there are still traces of cancer, but the patient is currently guaranteed not to die of the cancer,” he said.

Soludo expressed confidence that Nigeria would emerge stronger from the current economic challenges, saying he believes the country’s future is brighter.

“I am convinced, Nigerians, that in the next four years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will most probably and most certainly see a stronger and fairer Nigeria,” he added.

Speaking on the empowerment initiative launched alongside the food bank programme, the governor said the intervention would not be a one-off exercise.

He said the initiative would be taken to communities and wards through cooperative societies, with the aim of building a framework for a society that leaves no one behind.

According to Soludo, the food bank initiative is designed to strengthen food security, improve household nutrition, support local agricultural value chains and enhance community resilience.

He also commended First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for bringing what he described as a special message of support to Anambra through the programme.
