2027: Abiriba Stands Still as Labour Party Faithful Storm Streets in Solidarity Walk
The ancient and commercial kingdom of Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area came alive on Monday, October 26, 2026, as hundreds of Labour Party (LP) members, leaders, and enthusiastic supporters converged for a massive solidarity health walk designed to demonstrate unity and kick-start early grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dressed in vibrant party colors, the participants marched through key corridors and major streets of the town, chanting victory songs and reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the governance record of the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
The walk was not only a physical fitness exercise but also served as an strategic political demonstration of support for prominent Abia North Labour Party leaders, including senatorial candidate Chief Dr David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex), House of Representatives member Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, and all other Labour Party candidates across state and federal constituencies.
Party organisers highlighted that the health walk was intentionally conceptualised to blend community health promotion with robust political sensitisation, reminding residents of the tangible infrastructural and socio-economic achievements delivered across Abiriba and the wider Abia North zone under the current administration.
Participants pointed to recently completed road networks—such as the Abiriba Ring Road, rehabilitated health centres, and regional connectivity projects, as clear reasons to sustain the Labour Party’s vision of good governance beyond 2027.

Speaking at the conclusion of the walk, party executives praised the turnout, describing the overwhelming participation as a testament to the deep-rooted acceptance of Governor Otti’s leadership style in the ancient enclave.
“The energy displayed here in Abiriba today is a clear message that our people are fully aligned with Governor Alex Otti and all Labour Party candidates,” one of the party leaders noted. “We are not just building political momentum; we are fostering community wellness and proving that the Labour Party remains united, focused, and unshakeable as we approach 2027.”
The Abiriba rally comes amid heightened preparations across Abia State as political structures realign ahead of the upcoming electoral season.
With visible enthusiasm and high morale recorded throughout the exercise, party leaders declared that similar grassroots initiatives will continue across all wards and local government areas in Abia North to ensure total victory and unbroken continuity of transformative governance.
