Okorocha Accuses Uzodinma of Manipulating Elections, Says Governor Has Never Won Poll

Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of never winning an election through a genuine electoral process, alleging that results were manipulated in his favour.

Okorocha made the allegations after a Federal High Court in Abuja, where the court sacked Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District and declared former Governor Rochas Okorocha the winner of the primary election

He claimed Uzodinma’s emergence as governor followed a process in which an individual allegedly wrote the electoral results and later presented them as official results.

“Hope has never won an election in his life,” Okorocha alleged, adding that Uzodinma allegedly used the same method during the latest party primary.

Referring to Uzodinma’s emergence from fourth position in the 2019 Imo governorship election, Okorocha alleged that the governor became the eventual winner after disputed results were accepted through the judicial process.

He also criticised Uzodinma for declaring during the inauguration of the campaign council that Okorocha would appear on the ballot despite the matter being before the courts.

According to Okorocha, the statement suggested Uzodinma was already certain of the outcome of the legal proceedings.

He further alleged that the court had found documents relied upon in the electoral process to have been forged, insisting that the judiciary should be allowed to determine the validity of contested electoral processes.
