Mr Chinenye Nwogu, the Abia state coordinator for National Social Investments Programmes and Abia representative at the National Ease of Doing Business Stakeholders meeting by the presidency, has raised some issues militating against the growth of businesses in Abia and South East in general.
Speaking during the meeting, Nwogu mentioned the deplorable State of federal roads linking Abia with others states, the multiple check points mounted by the police, customs and other federal agencies, the issue of power, access to foreign exchange by importers and other issues that hamper business growth.
He used the opportunity to highlight some of the reforms undertaking by Abia State Government to enhance the business operating environment like the MSME and Investment one stop shop, reduction of time for land acquisition, consolidation of revenues, introduction of technology in revenue administration.
He opined that the state will improve engagement with relevant stakeholders to understand the pain points and develop strategies to resolve them.
He maintained that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is poised to support the growth of MSME in Abia being the engine room for economic growth, job creation and improved revenue for the state.
