INEC National Commissioner Visits Anambra, Oversees Voter Registration
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ramped up its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) efforts across Anambra State ahead of the 2025 governorship election, with a high-level supervisory visit led by National Commissioner, Dr. Ukeagu Kenneth Nnamdi.

The CVR exercise, which began on July 8 and runs until July 17, is targeted at registering first-time voters, replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and updating voter details including transfers and corrections.
Dr. Ukeagu, accompanied by Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Agwu and senior INEC officials, visited several registration centres to monitor progress and interact with registrants.
“This exercise is critical to strengthening our democratic process,” Dr. Ukeagu told registrants at one of the centres. “We urge every eligible citizen, especially young people and those who have recently turned 18, to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Mrs. Agwu assured residents of sufficient logistics and personnel to support a seamless process. She also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community influencers to mobilise their constituents to participate before the July 17 deadline.
The CVR aims to update the national voter register and enhance electoral participation. Eligible Nigerians can register at designated INEC centres in their local government areas.
For more information, prospective registrants are encouraged to contact INEC through its Citizens Contact numbers; 09050858629, 09050858675, 09050858649 or visit www.cvr.inecnigeria.org.
