Residents of Bayelsa State invaded a warehouse where the government allegedly stored palliative in Yenogoa on Sunday amid economic hardship bedeviling the nation.

It was gathered that people became agitated due to the hardship experienced and burst the warehouse located along Isaac Boro Expressway in the state capital.
It was not clear whether the palliative was the one promised by the Tinubu-led administration to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol.

Recall that President Tinubu had promised to disburse N5 billion and 3000 bags of rice to each State for the poorest of the poor to cushion the effect of the hardship.
On the 29th of May, President Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies, the prices of fuel jumped from N270 to N500 and later stabilized at N630. A situation that caused a hike in the price of foodstuff and other essentials for the people.
