2027: Bishop Sunday Onuoha Endorses Bourdex for Abia North Senate, Hails Him as Pathfinder
In a landmark political move that is already sending strong ripples across the Abia North Senatorial District and the broader political landscape of Abia State, renowned clergyman, former Presidential Special Assistant, and prominent Abia North leader, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has formally endorsed the senatorial ambition of industrialist and telecom icon, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex.
Bishop Onuoha, who stands tall as one of the most respected spiritual fathers, global peace advocates, and influential political voices in Abia North and Nigeria, made the high-profile endorsement on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, when Chief Bourdex and his campaign leadership team paid him a strategic courtesy visit at the Vision Africa Radio corporate office in Umuahia.
Describing Chief Bourdex as a “pathfinder,” “credible candidate,” and “brother of proven integrity,” the Founder and President of Vision Africa declared that endorsing a candidate of Bourdex’s caliber gives immense mileage, moral authority, and legislative credibility to the quest for quality representation in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
Reflecting on his decades-long friendship with the telecom mogul dating back to their work during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, Bishop Onuoha highlighted Bourdex’s pioneering contributions to Nigeria’s digital revolution.
“His ingenuity and pioneering initiatives in Nigeria’s telecommunications revolution will remain unforgettable,” Bishop Onuoha asserted. “Chief Bourdex is an honest individual and a true pathfinder in the media and telecommunications industry whose vision, drive, and early investment initiatives laid the foundation for the broader technological advancements and online commerce our nation enjoys today.”
The influential cleric emphasized that his endorsement is rooted in a commitment to good governance, sustainable development, and moral accountability. He noted that as a prominent son and leader in Abia North, his political alignment is reserved for leaders who seek public office to deliver selfless service rather than convert public positions into personal economic ventures.
He urged Abia voters to complement the ongoing socio-economic revolution of Governor Alex Otti by electing visionary, competent, and proven captains of industry like Bourdex to legislative seats to restore the dignity of Abia State in line with the ideals of its founding fathers.
Earlier in his address, Chief Dr David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex expressed grave concern over what he characterised as the deep-seated political decay and dwindling performance in the legislative representation of Abia North Senatorial District.
Bourdex argued that prolonged occupancy of public office by long-serving politicians without commensurate, tangible results has resulted in diminishing returns for the district, leaving the people with shabby projects and unfulfilled promises.
He declared that Abia North urgently requires a fresh, innovative approach to representation built on transparency, accountability, and world-class project execution standards.
“No project that is budgeted for and funded shall be executed shabbily under my watch. Bourdex standards can never be compromised,” Chief Bourdex vowed. “I am not seeking political power to enrich myself; I want to work for my people, deliver meaningful development, and create sustainable public wealth.”
The strategic endorsement by Bishop Sunday Onuoha—a formidable political heavyweight and faith leader whose influence spans across the five local government areas of Abia North and beyond—is widely viewed by political analysts as a massive boost that significantly strengthens Bourdex’s senatorial candidacy.
As consultations intensify ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles, Bourdex’s campaign continues to gather crucial momentum, uniting key stakeholders, community leaders, and faith-based groups behind a shared vision for an economically prosperous, well-represented Abia North Senatorial District.
