The Kano State Government has evacuated almajiri children to their States of Origin to mitigate the impact of the lockdown and curb the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
On Wednesday, 524 almajiris were evacuated to Jigawa, 419 to Katsina State on Tuesday 195 to Kaduna State on Thursday.
About 2000 almajiris have been successfully evacuated from the State as the Kano State Government has designed a program to take care of other almajiris in the State.
The state government separated in three categories in order to take better care of them;
The 1st category is to evacuate them to their State of Origin for better care especially during the pandemic.
The 2nd category are indigenes who would be enrolled to conventional schools.
The 3rd category are for the people who sleeps on the street, market and under the bridges will be taken to boarding schools were uniform and feeding will be provided.The State Government also warned strictly that any parents who do not abide by the reform set for almajiris will be charged to court.
Note that Kano State has recorded over 80 positive cases of Coronavirus and has buried over 150 people who died from unknown sickness in the past few days.
