At the general meeting of the Ukwa West Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the LGA Secretariat, Obehie, Ukwa West in Abia State on Tuesday the 19th of September 2023, the leader of the party Chief Eruba Dimgba urged the Party ward chairmen to embrace every defecting individual and members of another political party who wants to be recognized by the Party.
He said this when the party received key members of other political parties who willingly defected from their former political party to join the ruling party in the event which gathered momentum.
“I appreciate the Almighty God for his love, provision, and protection of all the members of our political party who had stood steadfast on the mandate as the harvest time is near. I urge everyone to be sincere in their participation in all the engagement of the party, and I would try as much as possible to support the party in my capacity as the Abia nominee on the NDDC Board. I advise the new intakes to be loyal to the leadership of the party and inform other people who are willing to join that our hands are wide open to accept anyone who genuinely wants to be part of the progressives.”
In his speech, the LGA Chairman of the party, Elder Uju Kenneth Nwarie expressed his joy over the new decampees and said that it is exactly what the party needed and urged members to embrace the new members rather than reject them. He advised the new members to fully participate in all the activities of the party in their Ward and the LGA.
In addition, the Special Adviser to the NDDC Commissioner on Political Matters, Engr Uruakpa Chinwendu Sterling pleaded with the party to avoid any form of quarrel among themselves and continue to live in love with one another, that it’s only unity and love that can attract good things in the party.
Continuing, he assured that with the leader of the Party at the LGA., Hon. Chief Eruba Dimgba the party will grow to a higher heights and will make an outstanding impact in the next election by the special grace of God.
The leaders of the groups that defected to the Ukwa West APC include; Elder Emmanuel C. Nwankwo (Ogwe Ward), Chikezie Nwaobia (Asa South Ward), Eze Esinwa CDC Chairman (Asa South Ward), Chief Onyebuchi Ogidi (Ipu East Ward), Ogbonnaya Ikechukwu (Ssa South Ward), Nwachinemere Okechukwu (Obokwe Ward) and Anyam C Yams (Ogwe Ward) were advised to work for the betterment of the party in the State.
Responding, the Leaders of the group that defected expressed their profound gratitude for the warm acceptance given to them by the party and assured them that he would wholeheartedly work with the party. They promised total commitment and loyalty, promising to bring more members to the party.
