In a statement made available by the Spokesperson Mathew Miller on Wednesday, Mr. Blinken noted that the U.S.- Nigeria partnership is built on shared interests and strong people-to-people ties and that those links should continue to strengthen under President-elect Tinubu’s tenure.
The duo also discussed the importance of inclusive leadership that represents all Nigerians, continued comprehensive security cooperation, and reforms to support economic growth.
Meanwhile, the United States imposed visa restrictions on Nigerian politicians who undermined the democratic process in the last general election that produced Mr. Tinubu of ghe ruling All Progressive Congress as the winner of the election.
