Keke Rider Saves Newborn Baby Sold for N2 Million

An unidentified Keke rider who was hired to transport four women in Warri, Delta State, quickly diverted to Ekpan Police Station after overhearing a suspicious conversation among the passengers.

It was reported that the tricycle rider raised an alarm after overhearing a conversation about a newborn baby that two passengers were carrying. The two passengers then got off the tricycle and said goodbye to the other two on October 1, 2024.
According to a post shared by SP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State on Friday stated that during interrogation, it was discovered that the baby who is just three days old was bought from a traditional home/baby factory in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for N2 million.


The suspect Lauretta Akomen stated that she was given a medication which she took for some time to make her look pregnant and was told when she could come to collect the baby.
The police revealed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court at the end of the investigation.
