Police Arrest Two Women Over Missing 16-Year-Old Girl
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two female suspects in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl, Miss Oluebube Chukwuma, in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, operatives attached to the Ozubulu Division arrested the suspects, identified as Uzoma Nwabueze and Precious Monday, on the evening of January 26, 2026, following what the command described as technologically driven information.
During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in the disappearance of the minor and disclosed that the victim is currently in Ghana.
In response to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a discreet and comprehensive investigation.
The move, police said, is aimed at establishing the circumstances surrounding the relocation of the girl and identifying other individuals who may have been involved.
Further updates would be communicated as investigations continue, the statement said.
