Mbah Suspends Daily Tolls on Petty Traders
The Governor of Enugu State Peter Mbah has ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of daily toll collections imposed on petty traders operating without lock-up shops, describing the practice as illegal.

The governor issued a stern warning that anyone found collecting such levies typically ranging from ₦100 to ₦200 whether on behalf of the government or privately, would face strict legal consequences.
Mbah stated that the decision was part of efforts to protect vulnerable traders from exploitation and to restore order in market operations across the state.
To ensure full compliance with the directive, the governor announced the constitution of a task force chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The committee is mandated to enforce the ban and monitor activities in markets statewide.
