World Teachers’ Day: Chinedum Orji Celebrates Teachers as Builders of the Future

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum E. Orji, has celebrated teachers for their contributions to education and nation-building.

Orji, in a World Teachers’ Day message, described teachers as dedicated men and women whose knowledge, patience, sacrifice and commitment continue to shape individuals, families, communities and nations.

According to him, teachers go beyond imparting academic knowledge, as they inspire dreams, nurture character, develop talents and equip young people with the values and skills required to contribute meaningfully to society.

He noted that professionals and leaders across various fields, including medicine, engineering, law, entrepreneurship and public service, have at one point been guided by teachers.

“As a former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency, I recognise the indispensable role teachers play in building a prosperous and educated society,” Orji said.

He commended teachers for their resilience and dedication, particularly those who continue to serve under challenging circumstances, noting that although their contributions may not always receive adequate recognition, their impact extends across generations.

Orji also called for renewed commitment to improving the teaching profession through better support for educators, conducive learning environments and greater recognition of the responsibilities entrusted to teachers.

“To every teacher who has stayed committed to educating and inspiring our children: thank you for building the future, one learner at a time,” he said.

He wished teachers across Nigeria and beyond a happy World Teachers’ Day.
