ABSUTH: I Paid Salary Arrears Within 11 Months – Ikpeazu
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Ph.D. has talked about the salary arrears of workers of the Abia State Teaching Hospital.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Ph.D. has talked about the salary arrears of workers of the Abia State Teaching Hospital. He disclosed that he paid all the arrears of the hospital before he was 11 (eleven) months in office.

He stated this while fielding questions in an interview with Magic FM, Aba, on Thursday.
Ikpeazu revealed that he told the Directors of ABSUTH to increase their IGR, and he will look for a way to help them. The Directors took up the offer, and he bought three dialysis machines to help them make their revenue, but it was unfortunate that these machines were directed to private use.
This made him decide to send people interested in studying medicine, radiography and the rest to school for them to come out with a different view and help the State keep it’s health sectors in check.
In his words, “it is only somebody that has human sympathy that should be in the medical field. That is why I decided to send our people who have the interest to study medicine and radiography so that they will have a different ideology to what we have now.
“It will be an avenue for them to replace the people that we have now in hospitals and practice their profession with human feelings.”
The Governor also added that self-interest had been the disease that has plagued ABSUTH and other agencies.
Ikpeazu also talked about his victory at the Supreme court yesterday and said: “he starts work tomorrow.”
