COVID-19: Lockdown Continues in Abia State
The Abia State Government has reminded Abians that the lockdown grace which started on Friday will end on Sunday, April 12th, 2020.

The Abia State Government has reminded Abians that the lockdown grace which started on Friday will end on Sunday, April 12th, 2020.
This was made known by the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem through a press release made available to the press.
The statement reads, “The lockdown grace (6 am Friday – 2 pm Sunday, April 12, 2020) granted by Abia State Government to Abians and residents alike ends at 2 pm today.
Consequently, the 7-day lockdown extension which took effect on Wednesday 8th day of April 2020 before the lockdown grace continues from 2 pm Sunday, 12th April to end on Friday, 17th April 2020.”
“Government plans to commence fumigation of our public areas including, churches, schools, offices, markets, public buildings etc. in Abia State between Monday and Tuesday respectively.
Accordingly, the general public is hereby warned to stay at home because of the health hazards associated with this exercise and in continued compliance with the lockdown.
Security operatives and various Enforcement Teams are by this notice directed to ensure full compliance.”
Recall that the lockdown relaxation started on the 10th of April, 2020 to allow people in the State observe their Easter activities.
