His Eminence Eze Eberechukwu Oji expressed gratitude to God for a successful year, emphasising that being alive under the cultural practices and traditions of Arochukwu Kingdom serves as a testament to God’s faithfulness. He affirmed that the light of God has come.

During a Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Amannagwu, Arochukwu Kingdom, on Sunday, he shared his deep appreciation for the lives of the people and the peace that has been restored in many areas.

He reflected on his understanding of the significance of being alive in light of Arochukwu traditions. “In our culture, when you offend the gods, you are required to take an oath that lasts for a year. If you survive, you are deemed innocent; if you die, it is assumed you were guilty. I am filled with joy today because we are alive.”

“In this past year, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness; no illness has dared to take our lives. During the Ikeji festival, we felt prompted by God to pray throughout the Kingdom. Initially, we thought it would be challenging, but God provided us with the strength to carry it out. Observing Arochukwu Kingdom today, one can see that a different kind of peace has emerged. Disputes are gradually being resolved, and we believe that God has granted us peace, which will continue to thrive in the Kingdom.”

“A new light from God has illuminated the Kingdom. Road infrastructure improvements have been made, and power restoration efforts are underway. This is not about us; it’s about the light of God being restored in the Kingdom. Today, we gather to appreciate God’s faithfulness and to thank Him for what He will do in our lives in the coming year. The love shown to us has been overwhelming, and I thank you all for your support.”

He expressed gratitude to Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who was represented by Pastor K.K. Ndukwe. He acknowledged their prayers that have strengthened him and thanked Pastor Sunday Nwazue, the regional pastor of Jesus Sanctuary, along with all the congregation members, stating his appreciation for the life given to him, his family, and the people of Arochukwu Kingdom.

“It’s been a year since I ascended the throne of the fathers. One year signifies that God is with us. If we were to start praising God today, it would not be enough to thank Him for keeping us alive throughout this year.”

The Guest Preacher and Intercontinental Overseer, Pastor K.K. Ndukwe, declared that the Lord will do great things in the land, emphasising that the true essence of the land lies within the people. He encouraged attendees to expunge fear from their lives, which often stems from threats, particularly in a society that experiences danger and pain.

Preaching from Psalm 92:1 and Joel 2:21, he stated, “It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord. Fear not, be glad, and rejoice, for the Lord will perform great things.”

Pastor Nwazue called upon the church to pray for His Eminence, asking for continued guidance in leading the people and elevating Arochukwu Kingdom to greater heights.

A highlight of the event included the presentation of gifts to His Eminence Eze Eberechukwu Oji, EzeAro, and his wife, Ugoeze, from the Jesus Sanctuary parish and Ntoo Parish.
