A medical practitioner has lamented on how a husband refused to fill a form of permission for his wife to be operated and baby delivered.
The woman who already has signs of imminent eclampsia was advised to sign her own form to enable the operation take place and save her life with that of her child.
The husband relented and signed the form which saved the life of his wife and baby.
Doctors and medical practitioners who weighed in on the matter stated that the only time a relation is needed to sign a consent form is when the person has mental issue or in critical condition.
Apart from these, the person can sign his/her consent form as they have the right to decide what happens to them.
