The General manager of Traffic And Indicipline Management Agency Of Abia State (TIMAAS) Commdr, Bright Chinedu Ikeokwu has concluded arrangements to commence a special operation codenamed “OPERATION REKINDLE DISCIPLINE” in the state starting from Monday 27-07-2020.
The GM stated this today while working with his men along Waterside area in Ogbohill of Aba.
He said that it has become very expedient that a higher level of discipline is instilled and maintained in the state expecially as it concerns road users, Roadside Traders, Mechanic that has converted the roads and other Government spaces into their workshops.
Commdr, Ikeokwu used the opportunity to warn the Cow Traders at the Waterside to immediately stop constututing nuisance along the Waterside area of Aba. He directed that all the Trucks that are packed along the road thereby obstructing the free flow of traffic be removed with immediate effect.
Speaking to the Chairman and the secretary of the Cow Traders, Commdr, Ikeokwu, warned that the Agency will no longer tolerate a situation whereby their trading activities will continue to constitute a menace to the society. He said that starting from tomorrow, any truck seen blocking the free flow of traffic will be towed and ceased.
Saying that the state cannot be grounded just because they are selling Cows.
The GM is also by this medium warning those Traders that are encroaching into the roadways and adding all sorts of extensions to their shops at OPOPO JUNCTION & BRASS JUNCTION that he will not only demolish them but will also charge anyone cought to Court. He said that those contributing money to go and give whoever they want is wasting their time. That there is no going back in Sanitizing the state inline with Gov Ikpeazu’s program of restoring Aba and Abia to it’s fomer Glory.
