The acting manager of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Kemebradikumo Pondei has stated that he was not acting when he fainted during a live session of the House of Representatives committee probing.
He revealed this in an interview with Vanguard disclosing that he does not run away from problems but rather, faces it head-on.
He said as quoted, “I had an unexplained, unexpected health challenge.
It is ridiculous to think that people believed I was acting. I would not pray for anyone to experience what I went through. I do not run from issues. I have put all that behind me,” he said.
Recall that the House of Representatives were probing the Niger Delta Development Commission over the allegation of corruption in July, 2020 when Pondei fainted.
He was revived and taken out of the room but it was later revealed by the commission that he had health challenges and attended the probing against the advice of his doctor.
Thereafter, the House Committee disclosed that it will go ahead with its probe and stated clearly that Pondei will not appear before the panel again.
